The Dr. James Galagan Laboratory is seeking a lab technician to assist a molecular genomics laboratory that applies systems and synthetic biology to the study of microbial molecular networks. The successful applicant will support and perform a range of molecular biology and experiments with a particular focus on the molecular cloning and biochemical characterization of microbial proteins.
Perform microbiological tasks including bacterial culture, selection, and molecular cloning.
Perform various molecular biology tasks as required for the development, execution, and validation of sequencing projects.
Operate robotic workstation for automated purification of DNA, RNA, or proteins.
Perform various biochemical characterizations of cloned proteins.
Perform project tracking and provide regular status reports to the lab PI and other lab members.
