Job Description Summary:
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Oakland University (OU) invites applicants to join our faculty as a full time Special Instructor in Industrial Robotics starting in January 2016. Applicants must have earned at least an M.S. degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or related fields. Teaching with commitment to excellence and dedication to university and professional service is required. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in industrial automation. The successful candidates will be expected to teach and develop undergraduate and lower-division graduate courses and laboratories in both industrial robotics and introductory electrical or computer engineering topics.
OU is a doctoral research public institution located in southeastern Michigan at the intellectual center of the Automotive Industry, adjacent to the Oakland Technology Park, and within the Oakland County Automation Alley including several major robotics OEMs and integrators. OU offers an exemplary fringe benefit package. The ECE Department has 17 faculty members and offers BSE, MS, and Ph.D. programs with robotics tracks, an industry advisory board for robotics and automation, as well as research and teaching labs with modern full-sized and tabletop assembly robots as well as Delta robots.
