Full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Mechatronics Engineering/Robotics Engineering or a closely related field for programs that emphasize practical applications of technology and aeronautics. Position to begin August 2018.

Position requirements include the development and teaching of coursework in the area of mechatronics. Knowledge and expertise in areas including, but not limited to, automation, traditional manufacturing, additive manufacturing, programmable logic controllers, robotics and systems engineering. Assist in the development of undergraduate and graduate curricula in mechatronics engineering and mechatronics engineering technology in accordance with ABET accreditation criteria. Engage in collaboration for engineering-related activities across academia, industry, and government. Conduct scholarly and sponsored research at both graduate and undergraduate levels. The selected candidate will be instrumental in developing strategic research competencies for the college. Develop and organize laboratory experiments and assist and guide student projects such as capstone projects in mechatronics. Provide service to the campus and community. Work cooperatively with a diverse student population and with faculty colleagues on college- and university-wide committees.
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related discipline prior to starting this position. Applicants without a Ph.D. will not be considered. Applicants should also have a background in mechatronics, electrical, advanced manufacturing or automation engineering. a P.E. license will be viewed favorably.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
Must pass a security check.
