This Research Assistant I will be responsible for:
Production, maintenance, and QC of human pluripotent stem cells.
Cellular analysis including immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, DNA / RNA isolation, PCR, and molecular biology techniques.
Operation of instruments such as flow cytometers, automated fluorescence microscopes, plate washers, plate readers, automated pipettors, liquid handling robotics.
Preparing media and stock solutions.
Ensuring compliance with institutional and federal guidelines in health, safety and animal regulations.
Preparing figures and protocols.
Teaching lab techniques.
To qualify, you must have:
The level of knowledge and skills typically acquired through recent completion of a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related discipline, preferably with a GPA of >3.5.
Extensive undergraduate hands-on research lab experience.
Willingness to work with animals and human tissues.
Strong organizational skills, work ethic, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Ability to follow multi-step protocols and standard operating procedures.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team, in a productive, goal-oriented manner.
Willingness to commit to two years.

This position is located within a human stem cell biology laboratory at Boston Children's Hospital and calls for a highly motivated, intelligent, responsible, conscientious, and detail-oriented individual. The successful candidate must be a quick learner who enjoys acquiring new skills and working as a team.
