The School of Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering invites applications for a full-time1.0 FTE, 9-month, Tenure Track Assistant, Associate or Full Professor position.
Applicants must hold a doctorate in a relevant field. The successful candidate is expected to initiate new funded research as well as expand, complement, and collaborate with existing research programs in the School, the Collaborative Robotics and Intelligent Systems (CoRIS) institute, the College of Engineering and beyond.
The successful candidates will have office and laboratory space physically located with the existing Robotics group, will have an administrative home most appropriate to their area of expertise within the College of Engineering (MIME or EECS), and be a member of the CoRIS institute.
Typically requires PhD or terminal degree (Masters for some Extension positions and MLS for Library positions), demonstrated ability to teach in a classroom Extension, or other setting, and develop a research program in the academic discipline/unit.
Minimum/Required Qualifications at the level of Assistant Professor:
Applicants must have earned a PhD in in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other robotics-related discipline prior to position start date.
Demonstrated ability or significant potential for excellent teaching, leading and collaborating in innovative research, and attracting the necessary funding to sustain a vigorous research program are required.
Proven oral and written communication skills.
A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
Minimum/Required Qualifications at the level of Associate or Full Professor:
Applicants must have earned a PhD in in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other robotics-related discipline.
Demonstrated ability to provide provide inspiration and leadership in research and actively contribute to teaching.
Proven oral and written communication skills.
