Senior Network Engineer, National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC)-2005180
NREC is looking for a hands-on network engineer with practical experience in designing, engineering, maintaining, monitoring and securing data and voice network infrastructures. Should have experience in technology infrastructure, including implementation, and operations; as well as experience with network management/monitoring applications. This position is responsible to plan and coordinate the implementation of network technologies in support of defined requirements generated by research projects and IT; including both the wired and wireless network infrastructures. The Senior Network Engineer is expected to validate project requirements, define project scope, develop project schedules and produce detailed designs for assigned projects. The ideal candidate should have solid analytical skills and the ability to perform complex troubleshooting to isolate, diagnose, and correct network problems. Comprehensive hands-on experience working with Juniper hardware. Experience working with Wi-Fi infrastructure and protocols. Experience working in a multi-platform environment is needed; with experience specifically with Windows and Linux system security. This position is a part of a small team of IT professionals and will be expected, at times, to participate in activities that are not specific to the network but to the general infrastructure support such as Windows and Linux servers, storage, virtualization, DR, etc. NREC is a world class organization that expects their employees to maintain the highest degree of professionalism and integrity. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering required; Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred
At least 5 years relevant experience in Network security administration, network planning and design, and network administration required
Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certifications preferred
