full-time position with Facilities Management; 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday; 8:30 to 5:00 p.m.
The Robotic Systems Technician will be responsible for all support activities for hardware, software and design of the institutions automated robotic cage wash system. Includes hardware repair, preventative maintenance and software updates of various mechanical, electro mechanical and electronic units. Work is of a highly technical nature and includes decisions to maintain equipment uptime, ensure financial feasibility and to develop, document, and continuously improve electrical/mechanical standards. Needs to have the capacity to effectively engage projects that typically span several engineering fields, (e.g. Electrical/Electronic, Mechanical, and Chemical)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs investigations involving calculations and/or tests in support of all hardware and software to ensure maximum equipment up time.
Utilizes this information to make all necessary hardware/software repairs.
Develops, implements, and maintains activities required to support all equipment and to solve problems by applying a variety of technical skills.
Works with vendors, suppliers, and consultants to assure robotic system models and prototypes comply with designs and specifications.
Prepares, schedules, and completes all preventative maintenance to include the evaluation and qualification of test specifications.
Be proficient in mechanical, electrical schematics and automated robotic software programming.
Work with unionized trades to maintain equipment up time.
Applies code guidelines and requirements to product design and control standards, i.e. UL, ASME, OSHA, NEC, NFPA, etc. as applicable.
High School Diploma/GED required.
Electronic/Engineering Technical School completion required.
Minimum of 3 years related experience.
Ability to work independently.
Knowledge of electronic/engineering techniques and principles at the paraprofessional level.
Ability to assess and diagnose operational and maintenance problems.
Strong Background in maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.
Computer Literate. (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-Mail, Internet)
Demonstrates leadership and teamwork skills.
Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.
Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard, Screw driver, pliers.

Independently lift, push, or pull objects weighing 30 lbs. or less.
